JR Hokkaido Pass and Furano-Biei Free Pass

Hi there,

All routes you plan to visit are covered by both the JR Pass and JR Hokkaido Pass.
This includes the Norokko Train to the lavender fields. (I made the trip myself about 3 years ago).

The only part you can't travel all the way by train is Sounkyo Spring, this because there simply are no train tracks all the way there. You can however use buses for the last part (not covered by the passes).

be covered by just the Furano-Biei Free pass?

Is the Furano -Biei Free pass part of the JR Hokkaido pass or separate?

I do believe all routes you wish to travel (including the travel to Chitose) is covered by the Furano-Biei Free pass.

The Furano-Biei Free pass is a different ticket than the JR Hokkaido pass.

I think a JR Hokkaido Pass is worth the price if
your travels bring you from the North to Central regions.

You can easily recoup the cost of the JR Hokkaido pass by making a trip to Hakodate.

But I do think that a 3 day JR Pass would be worth looking into if you plan to do more travel that just Furano - Beie!
