Hi

My partner & I are travelling to Japan for our first time in October.

Below is our itinerary and travel dates & locations.

Should we invest in a JR pass?

28th Oct - Tokyo
29th Oct - Tokyo
30th Oct - Tokyo
31st Oct - Tokyo
1st Nov - Travel to Kanazawa
2nd Nov - Kanazawa
3rd Nov - Travel to Kyoto
4th Nov - Kyoto
5th Nov - Kyoto
6th Nov - Travel to Hiroshima
7th Nov - Hiroshima
8th Nov - Travel to Osaka
9th Nov - Osaka
10th Nov - Osaka
11th Nov - Travel to Hakone
12th Nov - Hakone
13th Nov - Travel to Tokyo

Hi there,

I think your best option would be a combination of normal tickets (between Tokyo and Kyoto) plus a regional pass, the Kansai - Hiroshima Area Pass, and normal tickets again to Hakone.

Having said that, you already cover a lot of distance, and with a little more the 14 day JR Pass could be a good option.
