HI there,
Assuming you'lll be leaving from Kansai Airport within your stay by the 5th of October lets compare your JR ticket travel costs with that of a 7 day rail pass (¥28,300):
- Kansai airport > Kanazawa: ¥9,750 (222mins, 324km)
- Kanazawa > Takayama: ¥3,980 (161mins, 148km)
- Takayama > Hiroshima: ¥16,110 (356mins, 694km)
- Hiroshima > Kyoto: ¥10,990 (126mins, 380km)
- Kyoto > Kansai airport: ¥3,690 (79mins, 99km)
JR ticket cost: ¥44,520 for 5 legs
- 7 day Japan Rail Pass (¥28,300) saving: ¥16,220
As you can see you'll make good savings of ¥16,220 with a 7 day rail pass so I can certainly recommend this option to you.
