Hello,

I will visit Japan on 9th of December and would like to make the following script:

Narita - Osaka
Osaka - Nara
Nara - kyoto
Kyoto - Osaka
Osaka - Nagoya
Nagoya - Tokyo
Tokyo - Fujikyu Highland
Fujikyu Highland - Tokyo
Tokyo - Yokohama
Yokohama - Narita

What can I use this trageto JR? How much do I save?

Hi there!

You'll be able to get to all these destinations with a JR Pass excep for Fujikyu Highlands. For Fuji-Q, the JR Pass will take you as far as Otsuki where you'll need to transfer to the non-JR Fujikyu lines (¥800-1000 each way). Given that, here's your cost breakdown for normal JR tickets with a comparison to the Japan Rail Pass:

  1. Narita airport terminal 1 > Osaka: ¥15,850 (272mins, 635km)
  2. Osaka > Nara: ¥780 (59mins, 48km)
  3. Nara > Kyoto: ¥690 (44mins, 41km)
  4. Kyoto > Osaka: ¥540 (28mins, 42km)
  5. Osaka > Nagoya: ¥6,380 (67mins, 190km)
  6. Nagoya > Tokyo: ¥10,580 (106mins, 366km)
  7. Tokyo > Otsuki: ¥2,860 (85mins, 87km)
  8. Otsuki > Tokyo: ¥2,860 (76mins, 87km)
  9. Tokyo > Yokohama: ¥1,460 (23mins, 28km)
  10. Yokohama > Narita airport terminal 1: ¥3,980 (89mins, 110km)

JR ticket cost: ¥45,980 for 10 legs
