Travelling from Shinjuku to Odawara with JR Pass

Hi

We are arriving at Narita on 17 December at 08:00hrs with 7days JR Pass. We will first take Narita Express to Shinjuku to collect the Hakone Pass. Upon collecting the Tickets we need to go to Odawara Station by JR Pass. What is the best way to travel?
1. Can we go direct to Odawara from Shinjuku with JR Pass. If yes what is the train that we have to take?
2. Do we have to first go to Tokyo from Shinjuku with JR Pass and then take another train from Tokyo to Odawara with JR Pass. If yes what is the train that we have to take from Shinjuku to Tokyo and what is the train that we have to take from Tokyo to Odawara?

Your advise is highly appreciated.

Hi Trevor

1.) The best way is to travel to Tokyo station and use a Shinkansen train from there to Odawara.

2.) Basically the same as 1 :)
