I'll be arriving to Narita Airport, staying 3 days at Royal Park Hotel (I thonk it's in TCAT). Then I'm going to Kyoto for 4 days, visiting Osaka and Nara, and returning to Tokyo, 1 day and leaving from Narita. the following day
What kind of pass it's better to get?
Regards.
Tokyo-Kyoto-Tokyo
Hi there,
The 7 Day JR Pass will be a great option for this itinerary.
Here's a little cost breakdown without the JR Pass.
Tokyo --> Kyoto ¥ 13,220
Kyoto Osaka (return) ¥ 1,040
Kyoto Nara (return) ¥ 1,380
Kyoto --> Tokyo ¥ 13,220
Tokyo --> Narita Airport ¥ 2,940
For a total of ¥ 31,800, the 7 Day JR Pass is ¥ 28,300 so you would save around ¥ 3,500.
The JR Pass is also valid on local JR trains in Tokyo and Osaka, so you could make further savings there too.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
I'm arriving on May 24 and leaving on June 1, so the 7 day would not fit?
Yes you are right, the period from the 24th until the 1st is 8 days.
Therefor I would recommend starting to use the JR Pass one day into your journey, so you can make the most use of it.
This is also why I left the first days travel between Narita Airport --> Tokyo out of the above calculation.
For you first day consider using a [Keisei + All day Metro Pass] that offers good value for travel in Tokyo.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
