Hello we are going to Japan and will be getting a 7 days JR pass and was inquiring if inner city buses are included in the 7 day pass.

Hi there!
It depends, some buses are fun by JR and are covered, other buses run by other companies or local governments are not. Note that the local train network in cities such as Tokyo and Osaka are very extensive and covers and can be used to reach most areas.
