osaka/kyoto/kanazawa/takayama/hakone/tokyo

Hi there!

Travel around Kansai, the area where Kyoto and Osaka are located is pretty cheap, so I would just stick to buying normal tickets here.
For the period after that, let's have a look at ticket prices to see what would work out best:

Kyoto - Kanazawa ¥ 6,910
Kanazawa - Takayama ¥ 4,380
Takayama - Odawara ¥ 12,710
Odawara - Tokyo ¥ 3,840

For a total of ¥ 27,840 the 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 28,300 so right now a 7 day JR Pass would not be worth the cost, however you are very close, so with a little more travel (think about a day trip from Kyoto) it would be worth it.

wld the 7 day jr pass be worthwhile to use it to travel from takayama to hakone and from hakone to tokyo and use in tokyo inc transfer to the airport?

Sorry I forgot to mention in my last post that Odawara is the Shinkansen station for Hakone. So you can read Takayama - Odawara as Takayama - Hakone.

As for your follow up question, you would indeed be making some nice savings if you could use the JR Pass in Tokyo and from Tokyo to the Airport. For instance one way Narita Airport - Tokyo is 3,140 yen, so you would already be making savings (given that you could still all of the above travel in 7 days, starting at Kyoto). Otherwise I would recommend normal tickets.
