Dear Sir/Madam,

We are visiting Japan soon and would like to know if it is more economical to buy the JR Pass for the following itinerary:

Osaka - Kyoto
Kyoto - Tokyo
Tokyo - Hakone - Tokyo
Tokyo - Disneyland - Tokyo
Tokyo - Yokohama - Tokyo

Thank you for your advice.

Regards,
Sophia

Hi Sophia,

The JR Pass makes for a great buy when you make a return Osaka/Kyoto Tokyo. Which your current plan you only travel one way and the JR Pass may not be the most economic option. Instead I would recommend buying normal train tickets as you travel.

For your visit to Hakone, consider a Hakone Free Pass which covers travel from Tokyo (Shinjuku) to Hakone, as well as local transport.

I hope this helps!
Daniel
