Hi
We are travelling to Japan

Wed 19/3. Tokyo Shinjuku
Sat 22/3 Hakone
Mon 24/3 Kyoto
Fri 28/3 Hiroshima
Sun 30/3 Osaka
Wed 2/4 Tokyo
Thus 3/4 Leave Tokyo

So a total of 16 days.
What would be the best pass to get?
14 day JR pass and the use local metro in Tokyo?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

For your itinerary, it is likely that purchasing your tickets individually would be your most cost-effective option, but if you were to purchase a pass the only option for you that would cover most of your itinerary would be a 14-day JR Pass. However, bear in mind that the JR Pass will not cover the full journey to Hakone from Tokyo, only up until Odawara Station - from there, you'd have to purchase a separate ticket as the train that runs into Hakone is operated by a private railway.

Kind regards,

Alexis
