Are there one or two day passes? We are looking to travel from Hakata to Tokyo but want to make stops in Hiroshima and Osaka. What is the best possible way? If there are one-two day passes, what are the ticket prices?

Hi there,

I'm afraid the smallest pass that covers your destinations is the 7 day pass (¥28,300). Even with a 7 day pass however you will make a great saving over individual tickets. Here are the ticket costs of your trip:

  1. Hakata > Hiroshima: ¥8700, (69mins, 280km)
  2. Hiroshima > Osaka: ¥10520, (109mins, 345km)
  3. Osaka > Tokyo: ¥13750, (194mins, 556km)

TOTAL: ¥32970 for 3 legs

As you can see you'll make a saving of ¥4870 over individual tickets with a rail pass. You'll also have several further days of free JR travel that you can make use of.

Hope this helps!
