Hi Guys,

Am landing at Narita Airport in the afternoon of 28th Dec. Am looking to go to the following areas:

28 Dec - 30 Dec: Tokyo (Narita Airport) -> Hakuba/Nagano
30 Dec - 01 Jan: Nagano -> Osaka/Kyoto/Nara Park
01 Jan - 03 Jan: Osaka/Kyoto/Nara Park -> Tokyo

What is the most efficient way route of travel and also the estimated travelling time? Have purchased an all-access JR pass.

Much Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy!

Traveling from Narita Airport/Tokyo can be quite an adventure as travel takes about 5 hours.

There's also on other option I have for your to consider. Since you arrive in the afternoon stay your first night in Tokyo and take the Asuza limited express from Shinjuku station in Tokyo in the morning. This train only departs once a day but it is a very convenient way to getting to Hakuba directly and it is covered by the JR Pass!

From Nagano take a limited express train to Nagoya station (181 Min) from where you can board the Tokaido Shinkansen to either Kyoto or Osaka (40-60min). This route is also covered by the JR Pass.

I hope this helps!
Daniel
