hi thanks, if we travel from tokyo on the morning of the 27th march and return on the 2nd april in the evening would a 7 day pass cover all thet time. when do they start exactly and expire

Hi there,
Yes this period would be covered, the JR-Pass is valid for 7 consecutive days of use, every day is counted as one full day, including the first day of use. Your pass will then be valid until the 7th day 23.59.
