Hello
In one year i plan to go to japon for more than 4 weeks and i need to know whether we can buy a rail pass for 4 weeks instead of 3 because after three weeks we would like to fly into the south of the archipelagos of japon and then use the rail pass to move between these islands
Many thanks
Edene
4 weeks japon s rail pass
Hi there!
I'm afraid the JR Pass is only available in 7, 14 and 21 day versions. In cases where 4 weeks travel required, many customers do purchase multiple passes. 1x21 + 1x7 days rail pass is the most economical combination if you do decide to do this.
Please note that the JR Pass is for use on JR lines which operate on the islands of Kyushu, Shikoku, Honshu and Hokkaido, with no service on Okinawa currently.
Hope this helps!
Would it be possible to do for instance, tokio -osaka and get back to tokio and for many reasons get back to osaka again or taking a ferry to cruise to get back to tokio
The rail pass is for the train as well as for ferry or buses which includs all way we want except the southern iw
IShagaki city
Thanks
Hi there,
Yes, it's totally possible to do as many trips on the bullet train between Tokyo and Osaka as you wish within your validity period. Please note that the only ferry which you can use the JR Pass freely is the Ferry between Hiroshima and Miyajima - in general the Japan Rail Pass is rail focussed, but this still opens up the majority of the country for you.
Ishigaki island is not one of the main islands and so there is no JR service operating there I'm afraid.
Hope this helps!
