Hi!

Need help which type of JR pass to get.
Day 1 Kansai airport to Kyoto
Day 2 Kyoto to USJ
Day 5 USJ to Namba

Looking at going to Nara and Nagoya day trips too.

Which is/are the best pass to get? Should I get 2 days JR West, or 5days pass? Is it worth getting single trip return pass for Nara and Nagoya?

Hi there,

You could look at using a Kansai Area Pass for 2-3 days, depending on when you go to Nara.

There is unfortunately no pass to cover the trip to Nagoya, so you'll have to get this out of pocket.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Thanks Daniel! For day1 Airport to Kyoto, and day2 Kyoto to USJ - is it worth getting 2days JR west rail pass or just 1day? Is the travel from Kyoto to USJ (local) covered by the rail pass?

For the Haruka express to Kyoto included in the JR west rail pass, does this come with free reserved seats or we still need to pay for the Ltd express to get the seats reserved?

Hi,

Yes, it would. Especially if you include travel on the Haruka Express.

You can use a non-reserved seat on this train, without any additional cost.

Kind regards,
Daniel

So there is no difference if I get 1 day or 2 days pass? So there is no difference for me whether getting the Kansai pass or just the KR Haruka pass? Does the trip from Kyoto to USJ require the JR pass? Or that will be under local subway?

I'm not completely sure what you mean but you can use the JR to travel from Kyoto to USJ, without having to use the Osaka subway,
