Hi Shah3502,
The (Limousine) bus is not included, as you say it is operated by a different company.
You could take the JR to Tsuruhashi station and walk from there (about 14 minutes). The limousine bus is likely the better option if you have a lot of luggage.
Kind regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Thanks for all the info so far. Now we have the hotel in Osaka, which is Sheraton Miyako . The address is 6-1-5 Uehonmachi, Tennoji-ku, Osaka.Acc to hotel info we are about 1/2 hour away from Shin Osaka where we catch the trains to Kyoto and also Hiroshima next day.The same day we arrive, we are going to Kyoto in the afternoon. There was Hikari 520 at 1.16 which reaches Kyoto at 1.31 or Nazomi 128 at 1.20 or 1.30 arriving at 1.43 these are from Shin Osaka. Is there a better route from our hotel for both Kyoto and next day for Hiroshima
Your reply:
Hi Shah,
Will you be using the Kansai-Hiroshima pass for the route to Kyoto? Please note that the Shinkansen between Shin-Osaka and Kyoto is not included in this pass. Not to worry though! You can use the Shinkaizoku (or JR Special rapid) service on the Kyoto line instead from Osaka or Shin-Osaka stations. These go as fast as the Shinkansen between Kyoto and Osaka (29 minutes). This train departs every 10-15 minutes, so you never have to wait long.
Same from Kyoto to Hiroshima, first take the Shinkaizoku from Kyoto to Shin-Osaka, then any Shinkansen from there to Hiroshima.
The pass you have is a JR West Pass and the Shinkansen between Kyoto and Shin-Osaka is operated by JR-Central, that's why it's not included.
Kind regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
I am glad I asked the question. The other trains were faster . They reached Kyoto in 15-19 minutes.
WE are coming back to Osaka in the evening from near Fsiamo Nari and Gion area. Which train should we take. I know there is a station very close by,but is it one that is covered by the paas.
From Sheraton in Osaka, is Osaka or Shin osaka station easier to get to?
Shah
Hi Shah,
Going back to Osaka, take a local train (JR) from Inari station. Then the JR Special rapid back to Osaka station. The closest JR station to your hotel is called Tsuruhashi and is about 1km on foot away. It is on the Osaka loop line, which also stops at Osaka station, so Osaka station is likely the better choice to go.
Thanks Daniel. When we take a local JR from Inari, we would get down at Kyoto and change to the Special Rapid back to Osaka right?
Shah
Also to go to Hiroshima from Osaka Sheraton Miyako Hotel, I would have to go to shin osaka station? I think the
trais do not leave from Osaka station right?
Shah
Hi Shah,
The answer is Yes and Yes to both of your questions :)
Kind regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
You had mentioned before, we can take any shinkansen from Shin Osaka. So we can take Shinkansen Nazomi 97 at 7.59 am or Shinkasen Sakura 547 at 8.04 are ok?
Shin Osaka is not on osaka loop line. So what is the best way to get there using Kansai Hirosima paas from Sheraton Miyako hotel. Sorry for so many questions. There are so many lines, it is a maze.
Shah
Hi Shah,
Yes, both can be used using your regional pass using Non-Reserved seats.
Tsuruhashi station is the closest station near your hotel. From there you can use the Osaka Loop line to Osaka and from there the JR Kyoto line to Shin-Osaka. From where the Shinkansen depart.
Thanks for all the information you have provided. It should be very useful. Leaving for Osaka tonight.
