Hi, hope this finds you well!
So, my wife and I will be visiting Japan from next April 2023 (from 9th to 24th), arriving/departuring from NRT airport.
Our initial plan would be staying in Tokyo (April 9-14th) and visiting as much as possible spots (including Odaiba), then going to Osaka/Kyoto area on April 15-16th, later going to Hiroshima, Shizuoka, and other Kansai spots (April 17-21th). Finally visiting Nara/Kobe on 22-23th of April, and take teh way back to Tokyo (NRT), not sure from where, but mainly 03 options: Osaka, Nagoya or Okazaki.
I thought that 15-day JRPass quite expensive, and we would like to take metro rides in Tokyo area (9-14th), including way from NRT to Tokyo and later Odaiba, what option you think might be most affordable/convenient?
Thanks
Marcus

Hi Marcus,

As a general rule, the JR Pass is best used for longer stretches of travel. Think of trips like Tokyo - Kyoto or Osaka to Hiroshima. You could consider 7-day JR Pass, but that would mean having to be back in Tokyo before it expires. Otherwise, the 14-day JR Pass is the best option here and will still give you a ton of savings over normal tickets.

Note that the metro/subway is not included but you can use the local JR network in Tokyo to explore the city.

Kind regards,
Daniel
