Hi,

I just wanted to find out what pass would be most appropriate to use for my journey? Can the pass also be used on the metro in Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto?
I will be arriving at Narita Airport in Tokyo on the 28/09/13 at 08:00pm. I will be spending the first 3 days in Tokyo. I plan to travel to Osaka for a day and then make my way to Kyoto to spend a day or two and then finally make my way to Tokyo Narita Airport where I will be catching my flight.

Thanks.

Hi there!

A JR Pass would certainly work out here. A return Tokyo - Kyoto is roughly the same price as a 7 day JR Pass so any additional travel you do after that (for instance to the Narita Airport is what you save). The JR Pass is also usable no the local JR Network in both Tokyo and Osaka and will get you to most places there (the metro is not covered however). Kyoto is a bit of a different story because there are not many train lines in the city, what you could do is buy a 500yen bus ticket which allows for unlimited travel on buses all day and will get you around the city without any trouble.

I hope this helps!
Daniel
