Hi,
My tentative itinerary is like this:
Osaka 5 days (Kobe-Hiroshima side trips)
Kyoto 3 days (Nara side trip)
Hokaido 3 days
Tokyo 7 days
What i cannot decide is if i chose to get JRPASS, due to my lenght of stay i need to get 21 days pass. The most expensive one. I don't think my trips cost in total would justify 999 USD total price. Can you please help me? Is it an option to get 14 days pass - deactive in days I am not using and activate back again? What would you recommend?
One last question, if i don't get the pass is train tickets easily be bought as single trips in train stations?
Should i get the pass?
Hi there,
The JR Pass will 100% worth it if you do both Kyoto, Hokkaido (I assume Sapporo?) and back to Tokyo. Within Tokyo the JR Pass is not that cost-efficient so a 14-day JR Pass will be enough if you complete your travel within this period. Note that the pass is counted in consecutive days.
Train tickets are not hard to buy either.
Kind regards,
Daniel
