Hi,

I am going to visit Japan on september 2023 with my wife and children (4 of us). here is our itinerary

22.09.2023 : landing at NRT in the evening and stay a night in hotel near NRT airport
23.09.2023 : going to Kyoto in the morning from NRT train station
25.09.2023 : going to Tokyo in the afternoon
28.09.2023 : going to NRT airport and fly back home

here is my question, which type of JR pass best fit to my itinerary? and can I use that kind of JR pass to go around in Kyoto and Tokyo using the public transportation there (bus, subway, etc)?

Thank you and best regards

Hi there,

At the current pricing, a 7-day Japan Rail Pass makes sense, as you are already making saving on the route Narita Airport - Kyoto and back to Tokyo.

The JR Pass is valid on the local JR network in Tokyo and Kyoto, but not other transport, such as the metro or non-JR buses.

Kind regards,
Daniel
