JRPass vs Regional Pass Advice

Good Afternoon:

Seeking a little advice for a trip planned November 19-28. This will be our third trip to Japan over the last 15 years, so we have some familiar with the JR Pass and have enjoyed it! But this trip will be more Tokyo focused with one roundtrip down to Nagoya for a couple nights.

Itinerary
Nov 19-22 Will be Tokyo area based (day-trips out of Tokyo Station; but no overnights)
Nov 23-25 This is will be a Round Trip, depart 23rd to Nagoya, return 25th to Tokyo
Nov 26-28 Tokyo area, potential day-trips but no overnights

With that in mind I'm thinking the 7-Day JR Pass may be overkill and there might be a better option to use? That said, if we are making day trips out of Tokyo or even around Tokyo would the JR Pass be worth it, or are we better served buying the RT Tokyo-Nagoya Shinkansen?

Thanks,

KW

Hi there,

Tokyo - Nagoya is best to buy normal tickets, there are no regional passes available for this route that will help you make savings.

Kind regards,
Daniel
