Hi there,

A 21-day JR Pass is certainly an option worth considering, as it’ll make planning your trip a lot easier. If you want a potentially cheaper option, it may be worth considering purchasing your tickets individually, but this comes at a trade off of significantly increased organisation with individual ticket purchase. It depends what you choose to prioritise and whether you are willing to spend more for the added ease-of-use of a JR Pass, but again, the choice is yours.

Hope this helps!
