I am solo traveling across Japan and wondering if I should get the JR Pass

My itinerary:

Oct 31 - Nov 3rd: Tokyo
Nov 3rd - Travel to Mt. Fuji just for a few hours
Nov 3rd- Mt. Fuji to Kyoto (Ideally within the night of Nov 3rd)
Nov 5th- Kyoto to Hiroshima (Preferably a night travel or a very early morning travel on Nov 6th)
Nov 7th- Hiroshima to Kumamoto (Must be during the morning, as early as possible)

Pls let me know if this itinerary will be fully covered by the JR Pass. And if parts of it are not covered, pls suggest alternatives best for a JR Pass holder. Pls also pay attention to the time of the day I want to travel.

Thank you very much!

Hi there,

The time of day you want to travel is based on the seats of the train you make reservations for - with a JR Pass this is completely flexible so it means that you're in control of when you want to travel. The itinerary is fully covered by the JR Pass, and because it is mostly if not fully utilising Shinkansen travel, it makes the JR Pass a cost-effective option for you. It also means you can activate the Pass on the 1st, allowing you to begin making seat reservations 2 days in advance and also allowing you to use the JR Yamanote metro line in Tokyo, as well as certain JR Buses.

Kind regards,

Alexis
