Hi all,

We're planning a 20 day trip at the end of 2023.

Any helpers out there who could give advise on our itinerary so far? and then which pass would be best for us?

I can't see whether all trains are included on this, or whether we'd need to pay for some transport on top of this pass?

Itinerary:
Tokyo - 3 days
Nikko - 1 day trip
Hakone - 1 day
Mount Fuji area - 1 day
Kyoto - 2 days
Nara day trip
Himeji - 1 day
Hiroshima - 1 day
Miyajima - 1 day
Osaka - 2 days
Takayama - 1 day
Matsumoto - 1 day
Nagano - 1 day
Tokyo - 3 days

Any advice welcome :)
Thanks!

Hi there,

This is an easy one - get the 14-day Japan Rail Pass. You will be travelling (nearly) every day and making great savings as a result with the pass.

Travel to all these cities is covered by the JR Pass, but you still may need additional local travel. Especially around Fuji and within the Hakone area. This, however, depends on where exactly you may want to do. Here are some relevant blog posts that may be helpful:

Kind regards,
Daniel
