Hello, I am just wondering if part of my routes are covered by the JR Pass,
from my research, it seems like only a part of Nagano to Osaka is on a JR line and then you have to transfer to a different line, am I wrong? If it's covered, can someone please provide more information on which trains to take?

so here's my itinerary:
1. Hakuba/Nagano - Osaka (does JR Pass cover this full route? ¥11,060 if I buy reg ticket)
2. Osaka - Kyoto (round trip, I know covered by JR Pass, and ¥1,120 if I buy reg. ticket)
3. Osaka - Tokyo (one way, covered by JR Pass, and approx. ¥14,670 if I buy reg. ticket)

I will also be traveling a bit within Osaka and Tokyo metro (mainly around Shibuya and Shinjuku).

I guess my main question is if the JR Pass will cover the route from Hakuba to Osaka.

thanks!

Hello there,

The JR Pass will cover travel to all the cities you wish to go to, even the train to Hakuba is included.

For travel times, I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/timetable and more. It's a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included.

Enjoy your trip!
Daniel
