Hi... We'll be in Japan from the 23rd March - 5th April 2013
Our itinerary will be:
23 March arrive in Narita fly to Sapporo then Furano
30 March Furano - Osaka or Kyoto by Train, or is it better to get a flight with this route?
3rd April Kyoto - Tokyo

Were thinking to get 7 days pass, as we're thinking to start travelling with train & Buses after we leave Furano. Is that ok? or should I get 14 days pass

Hi dewi,

I personally really love the train but if you want to go directly from Furano to Osaka/Kyoto then I would recommend taking a flight. By train it takes over 15 hours. If you are curious of what it would look like, here is the train itinerary.

If you only travel from Kyoto to Tokyo after that then the most economic way is to buy a one way ticket locally. The 7 Day pass costs 28300 Yen and a one way ticket Kyoto - Tokyo is 13,720 Yen.

In case you would want to travel by train, you could plan a trip down through Japan. Starting at Furano with stops at places such as Sapporo, Hakodate, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and back to Tokyo. This way you would get some really nice value out of the pass.

Hope this helps you on your way.
Daniel
