Hi there,
I recommend using a 14 day Japan Rail Pass for your trip to Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kanazawa, and the return to Tokyo (and all in between!).
You are making several long distance intercity travel and here is where the Japan Rail Pass works best!
