Hello,
We will be in Japan for 14 days, as follows:
Day 1- arrive Haneda, travel to Kyoto
Day 2 - travel around Kyoto
Day 3 - travel to Kii-Tanabe to start Kumano Kodo
Day 4- walk Takahara to Chikatsuyu
Day 5- bus to hossimon-oji, walk to Hongu
Day 6- bus to Shingo, train/bus to Katsuura
Day 7- train to Osaka
Day 8 - travel around Osaka
Day 9 - train to Hiroshima, ferry to Miyajima
Day 10 - train to Fukuoka
Day 11 - train to Tokyo
Day 12-13 travel around Tokyo
Day 14- travel to Haneda
Does it make sense to get a 14 day pass? Would we need a regional pass for the Wakayama area buses and trains?
Thank you for your help!

Hi there!

Yes, I recommend a 14-day JR Pass for your itinerary.

While the Nationwide JR Pass covers most JR lines, it does not include the following services:

  • Wakayama Electric Railway
  • Mie Kotsu Buses
  • Kumano Gobo Nankai Bus

If you wish to use these services, you will need to purchase individual tickets separately.

I hope this helps!

Kind Regards,

Mariko
