Hello! I just want to get an opinion about my planned itinerary.
I'm flying in to Fukuoka from Manila on September 27 and flying out of Tokyo on 6th of October. Here's my planned itinerary:

Sept.27: arrive at Fukuoka
Sept.28: Travel to Osaka by noon
Sept.29: Kobe and Himeji
Sept. 30: Universal Studios Japan
Oct.1: Kyoto
Oct. 2: Hakone
Oct. 3: Tokyo (Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku)
Oct. 4: Tokyo
Oct. 5: Tokyo
Oct.6: Depart for Manila by noon

I'm not sure if I should spend one more day in Osaka or Kyoto instead of touring Tokyo alone for 3 days. I'm still also not sure if going to Hakone is a good option.

I hope someone checks this itinerary.

And lastly, getting a JR Pass is a good thing for this trip, yes?

Thank you!

Hi there,

Using a 7 day JR Pass to travel from Hakata/Fukuoka to travel up to Tokyo and make stops on the way works great.

If possible, I recommend at least 2 days in Kyoto. The city has a lot of culture and tradition behind it and is a nice break from the metropolitan stops such as Osaka and Tokyo.

Also note that Himeji is directly on the route from Fukuoka to Osaka, you could simply book it in as a stop between both cities, walk around a couple of hours and travel on. This would make it easier to spend more time in Kobe as well.

Hope this helps,
Daniel.
