6 days in Tokyo, would it be wise to get a pass?

Hi there!

My family and I are going to spend 6 days in Japan. We will stay in Tokyo for the whole stay and will take 3 day trips to Hakone, Kamakura/Yokohama and Nikko. Would it be wise to buy a N'Ex + Suica pass, Hakone pass and Nikko World Heritage pass? Or is there any particular pass that would cover the itinerary?

Many thanks!
Kyo

Hi Kyo!

I think you've got it all covered with your plans for separate passes - its unlikely that a jrpass is the best choice for you unless you do a fair amount of further jr travel.

Have a great trip!

Thank you, Mari.

I may have to bother you with one more question. Does the Suica pass cover transportation between Kamakura and Tokyo?

Cheers!

Hi there,

Yes. The suica is a prepaid card that can be used on all non bullet JR trains so provided you have enough charge on your card you will be able to use it. Bear in mind that this journey is ¥890 each way so you may need to charge your suica or purchase one leg as a standard ticket as you may not have enough charge to get you both ways.

Hope this helps!
