I will be going to Kyoto on 22/12/2012 to 14/1/2013. Need your advice on the JR Rail Pass, JR-West Rail Pass, Kansai Wide area pass & Icoca+Haruka pass

My itinerary as below
22/12 - 27/12/2012 Tokyo (JR Rail Pass)
27/12 - 8/1/2013 Kyoto/Osaka/Nara
8/1/2013 - 11/1/2013 Kinosaki/Himeiji/Osaka (thinking of using Kansai Wide Area pass)
11/1/2013 - 14/1/2013 Osaka
14/1/2013 Kansai Airport

My problem is from osaka to Kansai Airport. The Icoca+Haruka pass is only valid from Kansai Airport to Osaka/Kyoto but not Osaka to Kansai Airport. What is the best way to travel from Osaka to Kansai Airport.

Hi there,

I think the best way from Osaka to Kansai airport will be to simply pay for tickets on the JR Kansai Airport Rapid train which is direct from Osaka to Kansai Airport. It is not the Haruka, but only costs ¥1160 (70 mins) and so is very good value and as there are no changes, very simple to use.
