Hi! arriving Haneda and going straight to Kyoto for 5 days, including 2 round trips to Suzuka from Kyoto for 2 days of F1 at Suzuka.

Then, Kyoto to Hiroshima for 2 days, and then Hiroshima to Tokyo for 6 days to finish the trip in Tokyo.

Possibly some day train trips in there too.

JR Pass worth it or just buy individual?

And- I saw on other forums that if you upgrade to Gran from Green it is still the same cost as Standard to Gran. If we want to ride Gran sometimes, should we just buy the Standard or is Green still worth it?

Thank you!

Hi there,

For your itinerary it is likely to be more cost-effective to purchase your tickets individually. However, the JR Pass will cover all of your itinerary and so it is still an option worth looking into if you feel that a pass is better suited for you.

You are right that upgrading to Gran class from Standard is the same as upgrading from Green, so if you do plan on upgrading to Gran sometimes and are thinking of purchasing a pass I would suggest just purchasing a Standard JR Pass.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
