This forum is so useful. I hope you can help me
May 8. Arrive barista
May 9 to 11 around Tokyo
May 11 Tokyo to Yokosuka
May 12 Yokosuka to Hakone
May 13 Hakone to Hiroshima
May 14 Miyajima
May 15 Hiroshima to Osaka
May 16 to 18 around Osaka
May 18 Osaka to Kyoto
May 18 to 22 around Kyoto
May 22 Kyoto to Tokyo
May 22 to 25 around Tokyo
May 25 tokyo to Narita and fly out.

The calculator I found said it’s a close call. Just wondering how to optimize and if it’s worth it for the 14 day pass. Seems like you really need to move around a lot to make it worth it. I could also add additional travel in if that made more sense. I know we have a lot of time around Osaka and Kyoto Thanks.

Hi there,

Yes, I do think that a 14 day Japan Rail Pass as it will cover travel between all these cities but will also be useful for local travel in many cases here. Such as the local JR Network in Tokyo, Oksa, Hiroshima and to a limited extent in Kyoto, in addition to the ferry to Miyajima.

I think I would activate the pass on May 12th, and keep it valid until your return to Narita Airport.

I hope you find this useful!
Daniel
