Hello there,
I am travelling with my wife to Japan on 15.2 to 2.3 as our honeymoon.
Read quite lot about itineraries for 14 days and there seem a lot of different opinions: Some like to make it every day different city while others take the opposite approach.
It will be our first time and thinking about buying the 2 week JR pass because we would like to have a couple of ski days in this 2 weeks while in Japan as powder experience is probably one of the best in the world (On this trip i will also celebrate my 40th birthday and powder skiing is on my checklist - so thats a must for this trip).
I was thinking about spending couple of days in Tokyo first than Kyoto and probably Nagano or Hokkaido for the skiing part (spending there and other 2 cities around 3 nights in each).
I am probably leaning a little bit more towards Nagano as it is closer to Tokyo/Kyoto and has direct JR line but am not ruling out the Hokkaido/Sapporo as it is in the North so maybe interesting to be able to see that part of Japan also.
Any suggestions, will be Tokyo/Kyoto/Nagano ok for the first time or should we make it a little bit more North (Hokkaido) and little bit more south as we will get the 14 days JR pass and can travel around - but would certainly like to relax and not worry/think about transport daily.
Thank you for your insight,
GG
