where to catch the train

so ill be in toyko, Around the Akihabara area on june 23, I plan to head into kyoto in the morning on the 24 I would also like to see the toyko tower before i head out so where would be a good place to catch the shinkansen to head into kyoto near that area? also the shinkansen would be free for my rail pass right? just want to make sure :)

Hi there,

Yes the Shinkansen (Hikari or Kodama trains) are free with the JR Pass.

Do you want to see Tokyo Tower or go inside? Either way Tokyo tower can be reached on foot from Akebanebashi or Kamiyacho metro stations.

i plan to go inside and see the view. After that i plan to head out to Kyoto, So Akebanebashi i can catch the train their to Kyoto?
