Hi, I’m going on a trip to Japan for a 28 days and I don’t know what is the best option for me with the Japan rail pass because it’s just for 21 days so I want to know is there a better option for me.
My trip is going to look something like that:
Day 1: landing in Narita, from there I’m going to fukuoka
Day 2 -4: Fukuoka ,side trips Nagasaki, Sasaguri.
Day5-10:tokyo, side trips Disneyland, m. Fuji, Niko.
Day11-12:Nagoya,side trip to Ise shrine
Day13-14:Takayama
Day15-16:Kanazawa.
Day 17-21:Kyoto,side trips nara and M.koya.
Day22-24:Osaka, side trip to Himeji castle
Day 25-27:Hiroshima, side trips to Miyajima and Daishoin.
Day 28:back to Tokyo and flying back home.

Which type of Japan rail pass is better and if not Which is the best travel option for this trip?

Hi there,

You can either purchase a 21-day pass and purchase regular rail tickets along with it, or you can purchase a 21-day pass with a 7-day pass that you can activate in Kyoto. The latter may benefit you more as it includes the return trip to Tokyo from Hiroshima on the shinkansen and will also cover your travel to Narita Airport.

Hope this helps!
