Hi
I have to catch a flight from Kansai International Airport at 7am on 1st January 2015. I note that the only public transport available to the airport is bus from hotels near Umeda. As I would like to visit temples on 31st to ring bells, following the Japanese traditional, can I confirm if the trains are available throughout the whole evening? Is that within Osaka only or it is possible for me to ring the bells in Kyoto/ Nara at midnight before taking a train back to Osaka?

Kind Regards,

Hi there,

As a general rule, there is not train service after midnight. This is the same on everyday of the year. So you would either have to stay in Nara or use alternative transport to return to Osaka.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
