Hi,

We a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids (aged 16 and 17) are travelling to Japan from 5th to 18th April.
I would like some guidance please on whether to buy a 14 day JR pass or use Suica travel card for the below itinerary

5th April - arrive in Japan Haneda airport and travel to Shinjuku station to our hotel

6th April - roam Shinjuku city, Godzilla Head, Omoide Yokocho, Shin - Okubo Korea town, Shibuya crossing

7th April - Go to Mount Fuji for the day and come back to Tokyo

8th April - roam Tokyo Tower, Teamlab Borderless, National Art Centre

9th April - roam Harajuku Village, Akihabara

10th April - roam Meiji Jingu and Senso - ji

11th April - Shin Osaka station

12th April - travel to Osaka

13th April - day trip to Hiroshima. And roam Hiroshima peace memorial, Atomic Bomb Dome, Hiroshima Castle, Miyajima

14th April - Osaka Castle, Shitenno - Ji

15th April - day trip to Kyoto and see Fushimi Inari Taishe, Shorin - ji Temple and Sennyu - ji temple

16th April - roam Dotonbori

17th April - day trip to Nara

18th April - go back home

Hi there,

That looks like a fun and detailed trip!

I always recommend using a Suica card because it makes paying for anything in Japan much easier, not just transport.

As for a good railpass, you can make the best savings using a Kansai - Hiroshima Area Pass. This will work well for travel from Kyoto to Hiroshima and back to Osaka. It also includes the ferry to Miyajima.
