Nearest snow resort from Namba & Kyoto

Hello! We are a family of 5 with children ages 19, 13 & 10 at the time of travel come December. We plan to stay 6 nights in Namba, 4 nights in Kyoto & 2 nights in a ski resort. Is Gifu the nearest snow resort from Namba or Kyoto? How about Dynaland? We do not ski but the children would love to just play and have fun in the snow. Please also advise if JR Pass is recommendable in going around Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nara, Hiroshima and whatever snow resort you will recomnend is best.

Hi there,

There are actually a lot of snow resorts not too far from Kyoto/Osaka. I would recommend having a look at www.snowjapan.com you'll find all snow resorts listed by region.

Although I have not visited it myself Dynaland does look very promising and is not too hard to access from Kansai.

A JR Pass could be useful if you use it to visit Hiroshima and a Ski resort, however I can tell you for sure once you have finished the itinerary.
