I arrive by international flight in Narita at 4:10 PM Nov 5.
What is the estimated time to get my bags, clear customs and then get on the Narita Express to Shinagawa Station?
I then want to transfer to the Shinkansen to Kyoto.
Should I buy tickets in advance?

Hi there,
Narita Airport can be cleared in as little as 30 minutes at the same time it can take over 2 hours if customs are busy. It is hard to say in advance. All together I would at least reserve 60minutes to get on the Narita Express. Then it is 60-90 minutes travel into Tokyo.
Tickets can be purchased once you are in Japan, there is no easy way doing so outside of Japan.
