Tried to book my pass for travel in July but couldn't, I assume that I need to do it within 3 months of travel?
Anyway, I really enjoyed the movie "Lost in Translation" which was set in Tokyo and Kyoto. I was looking for any organised tours of the film locations but could not find any. Do you know of any such tours that I could take part in?

I am not aware of any of such tours. There are however different websites that list the locations of the movies and it is very easy to visit them yourself with the JR Pass.

Personally I can image doing it on your own or with friend can be awesome too, this way you can also experience the "lost in translation" part yourself, although Japan is a very friendly and helpful country to travel in.
You may purchase the JR Pass up to 90 days before usage, so you may not yet be able to book it for July.
