Hi Daniel-san,

I will be travelling to Japan in late Oct to early November, and am considering getting a JR Pass. I will mainly be staying in Mishima for the bulk of my trip, and am planning to travel to Shizuoka, Izu, Nagano, Kagawa, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Tokyo on day trips and returning to Mishima at the end of the day.

Will the JR Whole Japan Rail Pass be able to cover these locations, and will the pass cover for the local trains/subways/bus in the different cities?

Hi there,

The JR Pass will certainly help you make good savings with trips to Kyoto, Hiroshima and many others. That said, you may still have to pay for additional transport that is not included, think of metro for example.

You can have a look here to see what lines are included:

Kind regards,
Daniel
