I'll be visiting Japan for 4 days and my itinerary is Haneda Airport to Tokyo city (2days) then to Gotemba and Yugawara (1day) and back to Narita Aiport. I am not sure if a full 7 day Japan Rail Pass will be worth it for me. Can I enquire the most efficient way to travel from Tokyo to Mt Fuji/Yugawara and back to Narita Aiport as we are short on time?
Haneda-Tokyo-Mt Fuji-Gotemba-Yugawara-Narita
Hi there,
Yugawara is directly on the JR Tokaido line and can be directly from Tokyo and takes 95 Minutes / ¥ 1,620. This is by far the best economic way to get there. To travel to Narita Airport, take the train back to Tokyo station and from there take the Narita Express to Narita Airport.
As for a JR Pass or other regional pass, I think that you will be best of buying normal tickets as you travel because all together the train tickets don't add up to such an amount that a pass would help you make savings. I would recommend buying a [Suica + Monorail package] in order to get you started and travel from Haneda to Tokyo.
I hope this helps!
Daniel
