Hi,

I have bought a 7 day JRPass for part of my 11 day trip to Japan in October/November and am trying to work out the most cost effective way of incorporating it into my trip.

Please can anyone tell me, if I was to buy a 2 day Hakone Free Pass from Shinjuku to Hakone, would I be able to return to Odawara (still under the free pass) and then activate my JR Pass at Odawara for the remainder of my trip?

Thank you

Ian

For clarity, I will be leaving Shinjuku on 3rd November, staying in Hakone on the 3rd, and then returning to Odawara on the 4th November.

Hi there,

The Hakone Free Pass is a great supplement to your JR Pass. It does not pay off for just a one way ticket Shinjuku - Hakone, however it offers very good value if you travel around Hakone as well.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
