I read that JR Pass cover only 4 Shinkansen that are Sakura, Hikari, Kodama, and Tsubame. Can the JR Pass nationwide cover for Akita and Tohuku shinkansen which are Komachi, Tsubasa and Hayabusa? My trip is to cover Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo and Hokkaido. Can the JR Pass Nationwide cover for all these places?

Hi there,
Yes, the JR Pass also covers all JR East and JR Hokkaido Shinkansen, including the Hayabusa, Yamabiko, Komachi, Toko, Tsubasa and all I may forget here.
Maybe its easier to remember that all Shinkansen services are covered outside of the Nozomi and Mizuhou.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
