Hi there,

If you are able to fit your major train journeys (preferably all but from Kanazawa onwards) into a 7-day period, I’d suggest purchasing a JR Pass as your itinerary is almost completely comprised of Shinkansen travel, and the JR Pass includes the ferry to Miyajima.

Hope this helps!

Hi,
Thank you.Not sure that we can fit all into a 7 day time frame.
If we do:
kyoto-nara nara-kypto
kyoto-osaka
osaka hiroshima
hiroshima-Miyajima
miyajima-osaka
osaka-tokyo
tokyo-Narita
would that make sense???
it is only 6 days!
Thank you

Hi Patrice,

An alternative would be to use normal train tickets for the route Tokyo - Kanazawa/Kyoto (and back to Tokyo) and use a Kansai - Hiroshima Pass for travel to Hiroshima and explore the Kansai Area with.

This means you'd not be stuck to a 7-day window and give you a bit more flexibility, while still making savings on transport.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
