We will be staying at a hotel in Chiba. Just like to know where we can activate our pass and which station we can get the Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka?

Hi Anna,
You can activate your JR-Pass when you arrive at Narita Airport. Here is a list with all the train stations where you can activate your JR-Pass.
Once you leave your Hotel, take a train to Tokyo station, from there you can ride the Shinkansen directly to Shin-Osaka.
