Hello,
I am slightly confused on where I can use this pass - does it cover all the train lines in Japan? Can it be used on the Tokyo Metro and Kyoto Metro etc? Or is it just the Japan Rail Pass Map that it can be used on?

The JR Pass covers the full JR Network nationwide. This includes the Shinkansen, local JR networks in cities such as Osaka and Tokyo in addition to local JR busses and the Miyajima ferry.

Unfortunately no metro, so when I have the pass I ride mostly JR and take advantage of it as much as possible.
