Hi, we are a family of 4, 2 adults and two kids, age 3 and 7. We have this itinerary and don't know exactly which are the fastest, and cheapest options to travel around Japan, do we need an Japan Rail Pass or better by trip by trip individual tickets?
We have these trips to manage:
24.04 Kansai International Airport - Kyoto Station (Haruka Airport Express)
27.04 Kyoto - Nara, Nara - Osaka
29.04 Osaka - Tokyo (with bullet train)
03.05 Tokyo - Haneda Airport
+local train , subway, or bus tickets in each city.

Thank you!

Hi there,

For your itinerary it is likely to be more cost-effective to purchase your tickets individually. However, the JR Pass will cover all of your itinerary and so it is still an option worth looking into if you feel that a pass is better suited for you.

If you plan on travelling a lot within cities via metro or bus I would recommend purchasing a SUICA or PASMO card.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
