Hi, Me and my 4 friends are visiting Japan for 10 days in November. We are looking at buying 7 day JR pass.
We have booked accommodation in Tokyo, but are thinking of visiting Osaka, Kyota and Hiroshima during day. We are thinking of catching the first train in the morning to these places from Tokyo, and take the last train back in the night.
I wanted to check if JR pass will let me travel unlimited for these 7 days. Can I catch both ways train to multiple cities from Tokyo under the JR pass.
We are arriving on 8th November and flying back on 17th Nov.
We haven't made our plans of what we will be doing, depending on your response we will book activities.
Visit to Japan
Hi there,
Yes - the JR Pass offers unlimited travel in a 7-day period, in fact I would recommend it for you as it is likely to be your most cost-effective option if you plan on utilising the Shinkansen as you say you will. My recommendation would be to try and fit these journeys within the 7-day period of the pass, e.g. spend a couple extra days in Tokyo.
Hope this helps!
Alexis
